Oversaw a portfolio of 23 grants in Tanzania and Ethiopia, as well as two global grants.
Africa Leadership Initiative East Africa Foundation (ALI-EAF) Fellow
In August 2013, I was nominated and then selected to join the Africa Leadership Initiative, a 2-year leadership program that is a course planned and organized by the Aspen Global Leadership Institute, USA. I was 1 out of 24 selected in all East Africa.
Vodacom Foundation International Women's Day event
March 2013: SOC Children’s Villages collaborated with Vodacom Foundation to raise awareness on gender issues affecting youth girls and women, and the event focused on the promotion of Village Savings and Lending Associations that targeted youth and women, supported by Vodacom M-Pesa.
Award Recipient - Chief Executive Officers Round Table (CEOrt)
November 2011: Award Recipient: In the Chief Executive Officers Round Table (CEOrt) in Dar identified 2 organizations and their leaders to be recipients of the „PUBLIC SERVICE PARTNER OF THE YEAR‟ AWARD and I together with the CEO for CCBRT received this award for making an outstanding contribution towards supporting government efforts in addressing socio-economic needs of the society.
National Plan of Action
Contributed to the National Plan of Action to end violence against women and children through grant-making in Tanzania
Vice Chairperson of the Children's Agenda coalition
I was elected Vice Chairperson of the Children’s Agenda coalition (2010 – 2012), a movement that is child-focused and supported social protection with a membership base of about 40 NGOs based in Dar Es Salaam, but with national coverage. HRH Prince Philip President's Award Youth Program
2010: (funded by various corporate partners and government agencies internationally) : SOS Children’s Villages adopted the President’s Award Initiative, a youth program aimed at skills development of young people in Ngaramtoni Ward, Arusha District.
Child Rights Charity Walk
2003: Coordinated and facilitated a fund-raising initiative targeting the public and private sector. About USD 40,000 was raised (including gifts-in-kind), and the Hon. Mr. Lowassa was the Guest of Honor in that event, for which we received an award for outstanding performance.

ITC member International Training in Communication Committee member (received training communication, speech, and presentation skills) KIWANIS CLUB Kiwanis Club member (Was an active member in Pietermaritzburg and Durban South Africa, involved with community development initiatives that center on children’s needs: 1996-2000).
